Responsible for creation, development, coordination and implementation for programmatic campus and community partnerships which included 100+ education/outreach events annually managing a $90,000 annual budget. Responsible for curation of performing arts season with Executive Director with primary focus in world music, dance, and spoken word; negotiate and contract with agents/managers.
Education Highlights
ENCOUNTER: MERCE PROJECT: Conceived and created the “Encounter: Merce” project, a two-quarter interdisciplinary residency with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company, the largest-ever multidisciplinary arts project in the history of Stanford University. This project brought together Schools, departments, and centers across campus for a collaborative study, exploration and creative expression exploring Cunningham’s art. This project led to the development of the Stanford Institute for Creativity in the Arts in 2006.
PARTNERS FOR SUCCESS: Developed a replicable model with East Palo Alto non-profits by integrating the performing arts as a pillar in supporting college preparedness.
Programming Highllights
Attracted nationally and internationally recognized artists to the program, significantly raising the public profile of the program. Provided oversight to summer concert programs at Frost Amphitheater (5,000+ outdoor venue). Provided mentoring and supervision of student summer intern. Developed artist interviews, write articles for Lively Arts Magazine. Developed artistic visioning statements for organizational strategic planning. Created programmatic and financial partnerships with campus and community organizations (Hillel, Committee on Black Performing Arts, Stanford Concert Network, Knight Fellowships, Community School of Music & Arts).
Other Responsibilities
Oversight of House Management operations (House Manager and volunteer corps). Provided organizational oversight of Lively Arts operations during Executive Director’s leave of absence. Created organizational budgeting database; developed procedures and processes with senior staff for budget of $2.3 million. Represented Financial Director at Major University Presenters budget meetings.
